I want to tell you about a moment in one of my keynotes that nobody expects.

I'm on stage. I'm talking about action. About why people don't take it. About all the reasons we wait. And then, mid-sentence, I start taking my clothes off.

Under my outfit is a full Wonder Woman costume.

I stand there on stage, cape and all, and I say this:

"You already have the cape. You've been waiting to feel ready. That call isn't coming. The armour is already on."

The Readiness Myth

We have been sold a lie about readiness. The lie is this: confidence comes first, then action. You feel ready, then you do the thing.

It's backwards.

Confidence is not a prerequisite for action. It is a result of action. Every single time you do something before you feel ready, you send a message to your brain: I am capable of more than I thought. And that message, repeated enough times, becomes belief.

The people who wait until they feel ready are still waiting. The people who acted before they were ready are the ones who built something.

What You're Actually Waiting For

When you say you're not ready, what do you mean? More knowledge? More money? More experience? More confidence?

Here's the honest answer: you are waiting to feel like the person you want to become before you act like the person you want to become. But that's not how it works. You become her by acting like her. Not the other way around.

No superhero stood around waiting until they felt qualified for the battle. They stepped in because something needed doing. That's the whole point.

"You're never going to feel ready. Good. Now go."

Your One Action

I'm not asking you to overhaul your life today. I'm asking for one action. One thing you've been putting off because you don't feel ready.

Send the email. Make the call. Say yes to the speaking gig. Post the thing. Start the business. Have the conversation.

Your empire doesn't build itself. It builds the moment you decide to start, right now, with what you have, as you are.

The costume is already on. You just haven't taken your clothes off yet.
